HAZTEK APPOINTS NEW OPERATIONS MANAGER TO LEAD THE NORTHEAST REGION

MEDFORD, N.J., March 29, 2018 — HazTek Inc. recently appointed Michael Ryan, QSSP, CSMP as Operations Manager, Northeast Region, to continue to build safety cultures in the greater New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, and Connecticut areas.

Ryan has over 29 years of focused experience in the oil/gas, chemical, and safety industries. As Operations Manager, Northeast Region, Ryan works closely with HazTek’s Field Services Managers, Sales and Logistics teams, and Safety Consultants in the Northeast Region, overseeing site surveys, technical training, orientations, project launches, field staff management, consulting, client support, and service excellence.

Prior to joining the team, Ryan had been a HazTek client, working for Brock Industrial Services, where he was the Site Safety Manager on the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery site in Linden, NJ. While at Bayway, he led the effort to strengthen Brock’s safety culture through a combination of employee education, empowerment, and engagement. Ryan continues to be active with their on-site Contractor Safety Alliance, serving as Chairperson for 3 years. An expert in the industry, Ryan has also held various roles including Regional Safety Specialist, Senior Lab Technician, Research and Development/Technician, and Business Development Manager.

Ryan had been the coordinator of PPE and safety supplies for the response efforts during the anthrax attack at the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington, DC. His expertise was also tapped during the Lehman Brothers anthrax mailroom hoax response in New York City, where he had cleared the scene with a live threat assessment kit.

Ryan has held the position of Inaugural President of Appalachian STEPS Network (Service, Transmission, Exploration, and Production Safety), a national safety organization founded by OSHA and companies in the oil/gas industry. Ryan has also been the recipient of three American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers Safety Awards, contributed several articles for National Safety magazine, and received numerous professional safety certifications.
